Remember tutorials are just a guideline and creativity is always a must when doing PSP, so make it your own!!!

1. Open a new transparent image 150 x 50

2. Flood fill with a color from your tube
I renamed this layer background

3. Add your tube

4. Duplicate 3 times

Now this is where it gets kinda confusing... and since this is a tutorial, there's no real right or wrong way to do this...
This is just how I did this...
The best way for me to do this is just to get all your layers together AND RENAMED and then we'll worry about animation after!

5. Position it where you want it and then leave the bottom tube layer like it is...
I renamed this one tube

6. Click on the 2nd to the bottom layer

7. Go to Image / Resize / 75%
I renamed this one tube75

8. Click on the 3rd to the bottom layer

9. Go to Image / Resize / 50%
I renamed this one tube50

10. Click on the top layer

11. Go to Image / Resize / 25%
I renamed this one tube25

12. Close off all the tube layers except the bottom one

13. Add your copyright and watermark information
I renamed this layer copyright

** Note **
I only show the copyright information on the parts of the blinkie that actually show the tube...

14. Click on your very bottom layer

15. Go to Selections / Modify / Select Selection Borders / 2

16. Flood fill with another color from your tube

17. Go to Selections / Select None

18. Go to Layers / Arrange / Bring to Top
I renamed this one frame

19. Add your text
My text ended up being 4 layers, so I renamed them 1, 2, 3 and 4 and closed them all off for now

20. Add any embellishments that you'd like to all your layers, like drop shadow, etc.

Now for the REALLY confusing part!!!

21. Open AS

22. In your PSP, make sure that the only layers open right now are your background, tube, copyright and frame

23. Right-click / Copy Merged

24. Go into your AS and paste as a new animation

25. Go back to PSP and close off the tube layer

26. Open up the tube75 layer

27. Right-click / Copy Merged

28. Go back into AS and paste / AFTER Current Frame

29. Go back to PSP and close off the tube75 layer

30. Open up the tube50 layer

31. Right-click / Copy Merged

32. Go back into AS and paste / After Current Frame

33. Go back to PSP and close off the tube50 layer

34. Open up the tube25 layer

35. Right-click / Copy Merged

36. Go back into AS and paste / After Current Frame

37. Go back to PSP and close off all the layers but the background and frame

38. Right-click / Copy Merged

39. Go back into AS and paste / After Current Frame

You should now have 5 frames in AS

40. Click on frame 4

41. Go to Effects / Insert Image Transition / use the following settings

Start with / Animation Frame
End with Animation Frame
Effect fade
Transition Length 2.0 seconds
Frames per second 5 fps

42. Click on frame 3

43. Repeat Image Transition

44. Click on frame 2

45. Repeat Image Transition

46. Click on frame 1

47. Repeat Image Transition

48. Go to Edit / Select ALL

49. Right-click and copy

50. Click on the last frame

51. Go to Paste / After Current Frame

** NOTE **
Be sure to keep these all selected for the next part

52. Go to Animation / Reverse Frames

Don't worry, I know there are a LOT of frames, but the only ones you need to worry about now are those two blank ones in the middle!!!

53. Go back to PSP and open the first text layer

54. Right-click / Copy Merged

55. Go back into AS and click on that first blank frame

56. Right-click / Paste / After Current Frame

57. Go back to PSP and close off the first text layer

58. Open up the second text layer

59. Right-click / Copy Merged

60. Go back into AS and click on the first text frame

61. Right-click / Paste / After Current Frame

62. Go back to PSP and close off the second text layer

63. Open up the third text layer

64. Right-click / Copy Merged

65. Go back into AS and click on the second text frame

66. Right-click / Paste / After Current Frame

67. Go back to PSP and close off the third text layer

68. Open up the fourth text layer

69. Right-click / Copy Merged

70. Go back into AS and click on the third text frame

71. Right-click / Paste / After Current Frame

Now you should have a blank frame, your text frames and another blank frame... in that order, right smack in the middle of all those other frames we made earlier!

72. Select your text frames

73. Go to Animation / Frame Properties / 50

74. View animation to make sure that everything looks good!

When you have your blinkie finished, save and you are done!!!
